Tortoise Rescue Mission

Yesterday’s Jet Ski tour turned into a rescue mission for the WET Rentals and Tours team and our guests.
We rescued this amazing creature and helped it back to safe dry land.
We were out on the water having fun with tour group. About halfway through our island hopping excursion we spotted this land tortoise that had lost its way.
We found this little guy swimming for his life about a mile offshore in front of Caladesi Island State Park.
Luckily we were able to safely return him to his home on the island. We gave him a drink out the extra water bottles we always carry.
It was so cool to see this little tortoise drink from the bottle. A little fresh water and he was on his way to another adventure.
Many thanks to our tour guests for coming along for the ride! It was a fun afternoon adventure for them too.
It’s important for us all to look out for the safety of others on the waterways, especially our precious wildlife!
